09/08/2004: "Interview with Kirsch"

Interview with Ted Kirsch in today's Inqy:

one line that struck me:

Though by most accounts a gifted educator, Kirsch has spent barely 10 of his 44 years as a teacher in the classroom. For the rest, he has been either a union staffer or officer.

hmmm...James Nevels vs. Ted Kirsch in a struggle of men who didn't spend anytime in the 1980s,
1990s, or the 2000s, as full-time teachers.

And we wonder why educators feel that leadership isn't in touch with them.
