11/11/2004: "Requirements for PA Senate Candidate to Run Against Santorum"
Requirements:
1. Must be able to capitalize on the huge voter turnout here in Philly during the 2004 election and keep that base mobilized.
2. At the same time, the candidate must be able to motivate Philly suburban voters to continue to vote democratic.
3. Most important, the candidate must not give either the wing-nuts or the rural folks something to mobilize around; in other words, the candidate cannot be a straight ahead anti-gun candidate nor can the candidate be an abortion rights crusader.
Will the PA democratic party get their crap together? Or will they throw up several unelectable candidates who split the Philly vote and leave us with candidates like Ron Klink?
