One of the things that I like to do at the beginning of the year is to ask students to think about what makes good work.\u00a0\u00a0 I posed the question today of “what makes good daily work ?” but asked them to write about notions of good<\/em> and daily <\/em>in three areas:<\/p>\n

thought: the way you think
\nspeech: the things you say
\nactions: the things you do<\/p>\n

These are the results, which we’ll turn into a daily rubric when we have time.\u00a0 Student initials by the comments.<\/p>\n

One of the best parts of this conversation was when HG pointed out that we can’t do all of these things every day.\u00a0\u00a0 We can only try.<\/p>\n

No doubt.<\/p>\n

In terms of follow-up, these posters have been placed on the wall and will be used as a way of judging the daily written work.\u00a0 In a world where there is so little time, I hope that they can serve as gentle reminders of how we want to be known each day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
