Spent an hour this morning planting garlic.\u00a0 I loosened the soil.\u00a0 I cut in the last of the compost from the backyard (we’re eating our New York Times subscription after we read it).\u00a0 I mixed in some perlite to keep the soil loose.\u00a0\u00a0 I put some straw on top (need more).<\/p>\n

I’ll mulch it some more.\u00a0 I’ll cut in some vermicompost on a regular basis.\u00a0\u00a0 I’ll chop out the scapes next spring.\u00a0\u00a0 Maybe two hours of work over the next nine-ten months.<\/p>\n

But we’ll have garlic!\u00a0 From Natural Gardening (Inchellium Red Sofneck on the left and Music Stiffneck on the right).<\/p>\n
