{"id":238,"date":"2009-02-26T14:36:18","date_gmt":"2009-02-26T18:36:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mrclapper.com\/blog2\/?p=238"},"modified":"2009-02-26T14:36:18","modified_gmt":"2009-02-26T18:36:18","slug":"who-cares-more","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mrclapper.com\/blog2\/?p=238","title":{"rendered":"who cares more?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I like this recent <a href=\"http:\/\/www.philly.com\/philly\/news\/40207612.html\">article<\/a> on the new school reform efforts in Philadelphia because every adult in it is trying to play the &#8220;I care about kids and you don&#8217;t&#8221; card.  <\/p>\n<p>Whoever can get it out first, whether a Superintendent, a Union Leader, a member of the SRC, and whoever can sing it loudest, somehow wins.  <\/p>\n<p>There are several variations of this tactic.  There&#8217;s the &#8220;oppose me and you must hate kids&#8221; version.  There&#8217;s the &#8220;I&#8217;m for kids and as such, I&#8217;m above your petty politics&#8221; version.  <\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, it&#8217;s a conversation stopper and does lasting damage to relationships; it&#8217;s hard to recover good will towards someone who levels this charge at you.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I like this recent article on the new school reform efforts in Philadelphia because every adult in it is trying to play the &#8220;I care about kids and you don&#8217;t&#8221; card.
