Deeply enjoyed the coverage on The Daily. Made for a great walk.
Here’s the Obama clip on this:
As they pointed out on The Daily, this was NOVEMBER. Feels like four decades ago.

Listening to The Daily (part two on “cancel culture”) and Isabel Wilkerson on The Book Review. Very interested in reading her book.

The NYT Daily is about as good as it gets. The two-part piece they’re running right now on Cancel Culture is awesome.
Appreciated and liked this novel a lot.
Final line from acknowledgments:
“Lastly, if you should ever doubt that a series of dry words in a government document can shatter spirits and demolish lives, let this book erase that doubt. Conversely, if you should be of the conviction that we are powerless to change those dry words, let this book give you heart.”
Louise Erdrich, The Night Watchman (New York, NY: Harper, an imprint of HarperCollinsPublishers, 2020).
